Trust & safety

Competition attracts heat, and a social product with young users carries real obligations. Here is what we've built, not what we intend to build.

In every member's hands

Controls that ship with the app

Safety features people can't find don't work. These sit on the content itself, one tap from wherever the problem is.

Report anything

Posts, comments, accounts, events and map pins can all be reported in-app, with a reason and a note. Child-safety reports are prioritised.

Block, both ways

A block makes two accounts invisible to each other — feed, profile, comments, search, messages and follows, in both directions. Only you can see your block list.

Leave on your terms

Delete your account from inside the app, with a grace period you can cancel — or request data deletion from the web. It's a real deletion pipeline, not a hidden flag on a row.
Moderation

Graduated enforcement, with a human at the end of it

A single lever — ban or don't ban — makes moderators reluctant to use it. Ours escalates, and every automatic action lands in a queue a person has to clear.
  • Content-level action first

A single post can be hidden or removed without touching the account behind it, and the action is recorded against the moderator who took it.

  • Account-level restrictions when needed

Repeat offenders can be restricted rather than removed, reversibly and with an expiry — so enforcement doesn't have to be permanent to be effective.

  • Automatic triggers, mandatory review

Accumulated reports can trigger a restriction on their own. Anything automatic appears in a review queue marked as such, so no action goes unexamined.

Competitive integrity

Safety tools that can't be weaponised

Blocking hides people from each other on social surfaces. It deliberately does not touch leaderboards, brackets, pairings or match results.
  • Standings and rankings show the true shared record for everyone
  • You can't block a rival out of your bracket
  • Two blocked players can still report, confirm and dispute a match — the social affordances are what get switched off
Younger users

Age assurance and parental controls, built in

Regulators in several markets now require apps with social features to know a user's age band, apply restrictive defaults to minors, and offer parental supervision. We built to that floor rather than around it.
  • Age at signup, age bands after

Date of birth is collected at signup and resolved into an age band. Accounts identified as minors get the restrictive settings by default, not on request.

  • Family pairing

A guardian can pair with a teen's account, see and adjust what it's allowed to do, and respond to requests — with both sides notified on every change.

  • Screen time

Daily limits a guardian sets, with extra time granted explicitly rather than by uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

  • Zero tolerance for CSAE

Our child-safety standards, reporting routes and the point of contact for authorities are published in full. Read the standards.

Money and stakes

Skill-based by design. Not gambling.

Outcomes are decided by skill and results, never by a wager on chance. Stars are spend-only and never convert back to cash, most competitions are free to enter, and Fiatmo runs no cash betting of any kind.

Something needs our attention?

Report it in the app for the fastest route — reports carry the context we need to act. For anything you'd rather send directly, or for requests from authorities:
